Wife gets divorce from oversleeping husband

A young woman in Egypt has been granted divorce from her husband of just one month because he oversleeps, reported 'Al Youm Al Sabea’a' newspaper.

Masr Qadima Family Court issued the verdict in her favour after she claimed that her husband sleeps for more than 15 hours a day and she has had no opportunity since their marriage to sit and talk to him even.

She claimed that he fell asleep every day the moment he returns from work. He sleeps even while watching TV. Often he has fallen asleep while speaking to guests and visiting relatives, too, she alleged.

Meanwhile, the husband claimed that he does not suffer from any illness, only that he is addicted to sleep.

She claimed that she had no knowledge of his addiction before marriage and added that his behaviour embarrasses her.
