Thieves sold vehicle batteries to scrap dealer

Two men on trial for stealing batteries worth Dh1,080.

Two Pakistanis allegedly stole Dh1,080 worth of batteries of two vehicles owned by a charity organisation, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

On December 31, NL, driver of the charity, headed to the vehicles and tried to start one of them. 

He found out that batteries of two vehicles were missing, so he informed the police.

Investigating the complaint in addition to other similar ones reported in the same area, police learnt about the involvement of GS, 40, driver and GN, 31, shepherd, in the thefts.

The two admitted to stealing a number of batteries of vehicles at Al Nahda area.

GS admitted to selling the batteries to Bangladeshi workers in a scrap shop in Sharjah.

The two buyers of the batteries were referred to the Misdemeanours Court.
