The hotly-anticipated record was made available on Spotify and iTunes later Sunday night — a full week before its official release date — after the project sprung a leak.
The streaming service announced Tuesday that To Pimp A Butterfly was streamed more than 9.6 million times in its first 24 hours, setting the new global record for the most album streams in a single day.

The record was previously held by Drake, whose surprise mixtape If You’re Reading This It’s Too Latewas streamed 6.8 million times in its first day in February.

To be fair, Drake was warned this would happen.
Drake also holds the record for most album streams in a single week (23.6 million), but if To Pimp A Butterfly can maintain its early momentum, Lamar might snatch that too.
